Vallance worked for big pharma until March 2018.
COVID-19
In mid March 2020 Vallance "defended the government’s approach to tackling the coronavirus, saying it could have the benefit of creating herd immunity across the population."[1]
On May 5th 2020 Vallance told MPs that masks could have a “marginal but positive impact”.[2]

Vallance, as chair of Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies, was one of very few members who was publicly named. He stated in a letter to the UK parliament in April 2020 that the decision not to disclose its membership was based on advice from the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure.[3]
