Sir William Ehrman, KCMG is a British civil servant and former Chairman of the UK Joint Intelligence Committee.

Background

Ehrman learned Chinese Mandarin at Trinity College (Cambridge).

Career

Ehrman "joined the Diplomatic Service in 1973."[1]

"He was also involved in handling the media reaction which followed the death of Iraq arms expert Dr David Kelly."[1]

Ehrman wrote a confidential letter to the government's security and intelligence co-ordinator, David Omand, dated 23 April 2004, suggesting that the government infiltrate "extremist" websites.[2]
