Marquis Gian Gaspari Cittadini-Cesi was an Italian diplomat and a member of the Bilderberg Steering committee. He was connected to the Agnelli family / FIAT network.

Background

His father was a land owner and noble who in 1920 was one of the founders of the Fascist Party in the Italian town of Terni, and major 1923-1924.

Career

Gian studied law, and in 1932, still during the Fascist rule, joined the Foreign Ministry. He was legation secretary in Peking (1935), Neuchâtel in Switzerland (1936) and Tangier, first-class legation secretary in Jedda in Saudi-Arabia (1939) For post-fascist Italy, he was Chargé d'Affaires in Stockholm from May 3, 1947 and Legation Council in fascist Spain. From 1953 to 1956 he was the first permanent representative of the Italian Foreign Minister to the Council of Europe.
