Career
Joseph was Cabinet as Secretary of State for Health and Social Services (1970-74), for Industry (1979-81), and Education (1981-86). He has been described as 'the father of Thatcherism' and is widely regarded as having been highly influential on Thatcher during her time in office. [1] He became a life peer as Baron Joseph of Portsoken in 1986. [2]
Accusations of Sexual crime
In July 2014, Joseph was identified by former activist Anthony Gilberthorpe as one of a number of prominent Conservative Party politicians he had seen having sex with boys during cocaine frolics, in places from private rooms to seaside conferences. Gilberthorpe said he handed a 40-page dossier to Margaret Thatcher in 1989, detailing government ministers who took part in the orgies but said he was advised against it by an official in a high place.[3][4]
