BBC
Marcus Agius was the first non-executive director appointed to the BBC's new Executive Board, effective from 1 December 2006, and became Senior Independent Director for the Board. [1]
Banking
Agius became Chairman of Barclays PLC on 1 January 2007.[1] Since 2010, Agius is the chairman of the British Bankers Association (BBA).
Bilderberg
{{FA|Bilderberg]] Agius in 2013 was one of three trustees of the Bilderberg Group.[2]
Personal life
Marcus, a Roman Catholic,[3] married Katherine (born 1949), a Jew and daughter of Edmund de Rothschild of the Rothschild banking family of England and has a close involvement with the Rothschild family estate, Exbury Gardens in Hampshire.
