Pietro Parolin is an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church. A cardinal since February 2014, he has been the Secretary of State since October 2013 and a member of the Council of Cardinal Advisers since July 2014. Before that he worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See for thirty years, where his assignments included terms in Nigeria, Mexico and Venezuela as well as more than six years as Undersecretary of State for Relations with States.

Bilderberg 2018

Among the Catholic commentariat and especially among Catholic Vatican II dissidents, there was evidence of uneasiness and disquiet at his Bilderberg/2018 attendance [1][2]

According to a Vatican offical, the Parolin was there for a "short time — about an hour and three quarters", during which the cardinal gave an address about the "social doctrine of the Church" followed by a question and answer session. Pope Francis was certainly aware of the cardinal's participation, the official said, and that the cardinal was "fully aware of the controversial nature" of the event but felt encouraged by having already met many of the participants in "other contexts."[3]
