Very poor country only known to most people for including the Mount Everest and other big mountains. The silent hidden sex trafficking that happens on the base of the mountains is often ignored.

Nepal is a small Himalayan nation state. It has a troubled relationship with neighbour China about the province of Tibet.

Climate

Nepal has a diverse geography, including fertile plains, subalpine forested hills, and eight of the world's ten tallest mountains, including Mount Everest, the highest point on Earth. Kathmandu is the nation's capital and the largest city.

Disappeared children

The combination of various factors such as a strong patriarchal society in Nepal significantly impacts human rights work in Nepal and makes migration a very difficult subject to tackle, especially when it comes to protecting the increasing amount of sex trafficked children to Asia and mostly India & Poland, NGO Winrock Foundation wrote in 2017.

Nationalism

After the Maoist Party joined mainstream politics, in the aftermath of the peaceful revolution of 2006, Nepal also adopted multi-party democracy as its official line. The transition period between 2006 and 2015 saw sustained protests from the newly formed ethnocentric nationalist movements, causing mass poverty and wage slavery.

“500 migrant workers from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have died in Qatar since it won the right to host the World Cup 10 years ago, the Guardian can reveal.

The findings, compiled from government sources, mean an average of 12 migrant workers from these five south Asian nations have died each week since the night in December 2010 when the streets of Doha were filled with ecstatic crowds celebrating Qatar’s victory.

Data from India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka revealed there were 5,927 deaths of migrant workers in the period 2011–2020. Separately, data from Pakistan’s embassy in Qatar reported a further 824 deaths of Pakistani workers, between 2010 and 2020.”

2025 color revolution

In September 2025, large-scale protests and demonstrations took place across Nepal, a few days after Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli attended China's WW2 Victory Parade. The groups behind the protest used the fist symbol, popular among groups funded by George Soros and the NED. In 2023, regime change specialist Victoria Nuland visited Nepal, as did USAID chief Samantha Power .

On 9 September 2025, Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli, along with a few government ministers, resigned and Sushila Karki was installed.
