She attended the Bilderberg for the first time in 2019.
Career
From 2002 to 2004, Hanappi-Egger was a guest lecturer at Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU). She became a professor in 2014, when she took over the Institute for Gender and Diversity in Organizations. From 2006 to 2009, she served as the Chair of the Senate at WU, and was also a member of the board at Graz University of Technology from 2008 to 2013. In addition, she also chaired the Institute of Management at WU from 2012 to 2014.[2]
Hanappi-Egger was a guest lecturer at the London School of Economics and Business, as well as McGill University. She published more than 350 articles on Gender and Diversity, as well as Diversity Management and Organizational Management.[3]
She was elected first female principal of WU in January 2015 succeeding Christoph Badelt.[4] In June 2018 she has been re-elected for a second consecutive period[5]
Hanappi-Egger has been a member of the Board of Trustees of George Soros' Central European University since June 2019.[6]
Mandatory Covid jabs
In 2021 she pushed for mandatory Covid jabs for all people associated with her university:
Universities are scientific institutions. Scientists concur that vaccination is the best solution for combating the pandemic. Is it not, then, legitimate to ask whether those who reject all of the scientific arguments in favour of vaccination are a good fit for universities at all? It seems justified to expect that university employees, teachers, and prospective graduates demonstrate a certain level of reason and, above all, recognise the merit of scientific findings...Not only from a solidarity perspective, but also from the point of view of economic efficiency, mandatory vaccination for all, including the members of the university community, is the order of the day.[7]
