Full article: Operation Embarrass

In late 1946 when Clement Attlee's government asked MI6 for “proposals for action to deter ships masters and crews from engaging in illegal Jewish immigration and traffic.” Stewart Menzies, the chief of the SIS, suggested carrying out false flag bomb attacks against Jewish refugees, which were indeed carried out in 1947 and 1948 as Operation Embarrass.[1]
