Tom Hedelius is a Swedish business leader. He was CEO and Chairman of the Board of Svenska Handelsbanken 1978-2001.

Career

Hedelius graduated in economics in 1965. Hedelius became Handelsbanken's CEO in 1978, when he succeeded Jan Wallander. In 1991, he was succeeded as CEO by Arne Mårtensson and became chairman of the board, a position he retained until 2001. In 2002, he became chairman of Industrivärden. He has also held a large number of board assignments in other Swedish companies, such as AGA, Addtech (chairman), Bahco , B&B Tools (chairman), Industrivärden (chairman),LM Ericsson, Lagercrantz, Le Carbon, Lundbergs, Volvo Cars, Volvo Trucks, Siemens, SCA , Scandinavian Airlines, Sandrews, Pååls, and others.
