Piero Ostellino was an Italian journalist. As former Moscow correspondent for the Corriere della Sera, he attended the 1982 Bilderberg meeting.

Graduated in political science at the University of Turin, he specialized in political systems of communist countries. He founded in 1963 in Turin the "Research and Documentation Center" Luigi Einaudi " and, in 1964, the magazine "Library of Freedom" which he directed until 1970; of the Einaudi Center he then became honorary president. From 1990 to 1995 he directed the Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) in Milan, and was a member of the scientific committee of the University of North Carolina. He was also the author of numerous historical and political essays.

From 1967 to January 2015 he wrote in Corriere della Sera, a newspaper in which he held various positions: he was a correspondent from Moscow from 1973 to 1978, and from Beijing from 1979 to 1980; special envoy, as well as managing director from 1984 to 1987; finally columnist and owner of the weekly column Il dubbo. From February 2015 until his death, he wrote in the Newspaper.[2]
