Claus Josef Raidl is an Austrian manager. From September 1, 2008 to August 31, 2018 he was Chairman of the General Council of the the National Bank, Oesterreichische Nationalbank. Raidl has been Vice President of the European Forum Alpbach since March 20, 2012.[1] He attended the 2001 Bilderberg meeting.

Early Life

After graduating from school in 1961, Raidl studied economics at the University of World Trade in Vienna. In addition, he earned a diploma from Duxbury High School in Massachusetts, USA. In 1966 he graduated with a degree in business administration and in 1971 he received his doctorate in commercial sciences. During his studies, Raidl was chairman of the main committee of the Austrian Students' Association at the University of World Trade. Raidl is an original member of both the Austrian Catholic student fraternity Norika and the Catholic academic fraternity Bajuvaria Vienna.

Career

In 1970 he began his career as an assistant at the Institute for Applied Social and Economic Research. From 1991 to 2010, Raidl was CEO of Böhler-Uddeholm AG.
