Misinformation is false, inaccurate, or misleading information that is communicated regardless of an intention to deceive. Examples of misinformation are:

  • false rumors
  • insults
  • pranks

It has become a propaganda term to label information or viewpoints that contradict the official narrative on any given topic.[1]
