Olaug Svarva is a Norwegian financial analyst and CEO of the Government Pension Fund of Norway, part of the world's largest sovereign wealth fund, from 2006 until 2018. She attended the 2015 Bilderberg meeting.
Education
Svarva holds a bachelor's degree from Trondheim School of Economics in 1982, and a master of business administration from the University of Denver in 1983. As an adult, she was educated as an authorised portfolio manager at the Norwegian School of Economics in 2004.
Career
From 1985 to 1988, she worked as a financial analyst for Den norske Creditbank and later for the Carnegie Investment Bank. She was appointed to a position at the Government Pension Fund of Norway (Folketrygdfondet) in 1991, and then she served as its Chief executive officer from 2006 to 2018.[1][2]
Board positions
From 2018 she chaired the board of DNB and Norfund.[1] She is Chair of the corporate assembly and the Nomination Committee in Equinor, Deputy chairman of the corporate assembly of Telenor, member of the corporate assembly and the Nomination Committee of Orkla, and on the Nomination Committee of Oslo Stock Exchange Holding.
