Monica Maggioni is an Italian journalist. She has been member of the Italian-American Foundation since 2008, and from 2018, she became president in the Italian section of the Trilateral Commission.[1]

Career

She graduated in Modern Foreign Languages ​​and Literature at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan with a thesis in French literature. From 1989 to 1990 she worked for the newspaper Il Giorno. HEr television career began in 1994 when he was hired by Euronews, a pro-EU all-news satellite television channel.

In 1996 she joined the state TV-channel Rai. In 1997 she moved to the news section TG1 and then to the foreign news section.

In 2000, she is sent to Israel to document the dramatic phases of the second Intifada, and then to the United States to follow the presidential elections which saw the victory of the Republican candidate George W. Bush. In 2001, after 11 September, she was sent first to the Middle East and then to the United States to follow the different stages of preparation for the war.
