Peter Forstmoser is a Swiss corporate lawyer and academic. He attended the 1978 Bilderberg meeting. the year before he founded a "liberal" think tank.
Education
Peter Forstmoser studied law at the University of Zurich from 1961 to 1969 and received his doctorate in 1970. He then completed his habilitation with Arthur Meier-Hayoz, with whom he had already completed his doctorate, and obtained his bar certificate (1971). From 1971 to 1972 he studied at Harvard Law School and obtained the title of LL.M.[1]
Career
In 1974, Peter Forstmoser became an associate professor at the University of Zurich and, finally, from 1978 until his retirement in 2008, a full professor of private, commercial and capital markets law at the university. Peter Forstmoser is an honorary professor at Beijing Normal University and holds a permanent visiting professorship at the University of Lucerne.[1]
Forstmoser has been a partner at the commercial law firm Niederer Kraft & Frey AG since 1975.
He specializes in Corporate Law (esp. Law of Stock Corporations and Limited Liability Companies), Banking & Finance, Stock Exchange Law, Collective Investment Schemes Regulation and the Liability of Corporate Directors and Officers.[1]
From 2000 to 2009, Forstmoser was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Swiss Reinsurance Company. He is or has been a member of various boards of directors, including PSP Swiss Property, Mikron Holding and Hesta. Between September 2012 and March 2016, he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Leonteq Securities AG.[1]
