Gerhard Zeiler is an Austrian media executive who as of 2024 is president of WarnerMedia International, a portfolio of nearly 300 TV channels in over 200 countries. WarnerMedia’s consumer brands include HBO, Warner Bros., and CNN. Before that, Zeiler was chief executive officer of the German media company RTL Group and a member of the executive board of Bertelsmann, the media conglomerate that owns the RTL Group.[1]

He is a member of the Bilderberg Steering committee.

Education

Zeiler was born in Ottakring, Vienna.[2] He studied psychology, sociology and educational science at the University of Vienna.[3]

Career

Early years

In 1979 he was appointed press spokesman for the then Austrian minister for education and the arts, Dr Fred Sinowatz. He followed Dr Sinowatz to the federal chancellor's office in 1983, going on to work for federal chancellor Dr Franz Vranitzky.[5]

Television
