Valérie Baudson is a member of the Executive Committee of Crédit Agricole SA since May 2021, and "the most powerful female financier in Europe after Christine Lagarde"[1]. She attended the 2022, 2023 and 2024 Bilderberg meetings.

Education

Valérie Baudson was born on 7 May 1971 in Paris. Her father is a hospital doctor. She majored in finance at HEC Paris, from which she graduated in 1995. She married Éric Baudson on 21 July 2001. They have two children.[2]

Corporate career

Valérie Baudson began her career in 1995 at the General Inspection of Banque Indosuez where she was responsible for international audit missions. This experience led him to work in Hong Kong, Jakarta, New York, as well as the United Arab Emirates. In 1996, the Indosuez bank became a subsidiary of the Crédit Agricole group.[3]

In 1999, she joined Crédit agricole Cheuvreux, where she became general secretary and member of the management committee from 2001 to 2004.[4]

She joined Crédit agricole Asset Management in 2007 to launch and develop the company's expertise in the field of Exchange-traded funds from 2008. The company merged in 2010 with Société Générale Asset Management to create Amundi. In 2013, she was appointed head of Amundi's "ETF, Index and Smart Beta" business line.[1]

She became a member of the executive committee of Amundi in 2013 then a member of the management committee in 2016, when she was also appointed general manager of the subsidiary CPR Asset Management. At the same time, she supervises Amundi's subsidiaries in Germany and Spain. In 2020, she took charge of the Amundi division dedicated to distributor clients (wealth management advisors and private banks).[5]

On 10 February 2021 Amundi announced that Valérie Baudson will succeed Yves Perrier as general management of the group on 10 May 2021. On this occasion, she was also appointed Deputy General Manager of Crédit Agricole. In the position, Valérie Baudson benefits from overall annual compensation of 2 million euros, consisting of a fixed salary of 800,000 euros and a variable portion of 1.2 million euros, for the year 2021.[6]
