Career

"Few jobs offer the chance to steer global health research as much as being President of Global Health at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. So when an opening came up, Trevor Mundel jumped at the opportunity. Mundel, a Rhodes scholar who was previously Novartis's global head of development, will now focus on accelerating the development of drugs, vaccines and diagnostics for infectious diseases including AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis. His goals include the implementation of a high-throughput approach to translational research and an emphasis on fast decision-making."[1]
