New social media platforms.

Alternative technology is becoming increasingly important as outlets to circumvent censorship from the digital monopolies.

While most Alt Tech companies declare themselves to be independent to start with, various pressures, including legal threats and economic reasons soon make many conform. If they become too successful, the cartel companies with their unlimited access money have a history of simply buying them up.

Even though most political content in Alt Tech platforms is formally legal in most jurisdictions, the platforms are attacked as outlets for Extremism, Alt-right, terrorists, and antisemitism.

Some alternative technologies are not dependent on companies, but are user-to-user based, making them much harder to close down or censor.

Telegram, Odysee, Gumroad and DLive have been attacked by the CCM for harbouring extremism and hate.[1]
