The 2024 Crocus City Hall attack took place on 22 March 2024 in Krasnogorsk, a Russian city on the western edge of Moscow, when a mass shooting and multiple explosions occurred killing at least 40 people and injuring over 145.[1]

Masked and camouflaged gunmen opened fire on the audience waiting for a concert to begin.

Russia's Foreign Ministry called the incident a terrorist attack.

Islamic State – Khorasan Province reportedly claimed responsibility.[2]

"Calls from the US and British embassies for their citizens not to visit the shopping centre in Moscow indicate that their intelligence services had information about possible terrorist attacks.
“On March 7, the American embassy called on its citizens not to visit the shopping centre. Then the British and someone else did the same.
"This means that their intelligence services intercepted certain negotiations, received information and knew that something would happen.”[5]

“The White House said it saw no indication that Ukraine or Ukrainians were involved in the terrorist attack in Moscow.
