Dr. Cüneyt Ülsever is a journalist, writer and economist born in 1951.
Overview
He was born in Ankara in 1951. His father was a civil servant. After completing his high school education at Robert College, he started to study economics at Boğaziçi University. He then continued his education with a master's degree in international relations at Johns Hopkins University and economics at Columbia University. He took his doctorate on human resources at Harvard University in 1983, and returned to Turkey as the first person who had a PhD on human resources in the country.
During his education in America, his atheist and Marxist views changed and he became a liberal Muslim. At all times he and his family belonged to the intellectual 'entel' establishment in the capital cities.
Ülsever, who worked for Kanal 7, STV and the newspaper Hürriyet.Ülsever, who worked as a manager in various levels between 1983-97 and consultant 1997-99, worked as a columnist and Human Resources consultant in Hürriyet Newspaper and Daily News between 1999-2011. Between 2011 and 2015, he continued his articles in Yurt Newspaper. but stopped writing a his column after the election that year.
Ülsever has been teaching as a lecturer at Koç University since 2011. [1]
