Madeleine von Holzen is a Swiss editor. She has been Editor-in-Chief of the French-language newspaper Le Temps since January 2021, frequently hobnobbing with the rich and mighty at the WEF in Davos.[1][2]
Education
She graduated from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in 1990 in international relations.[3]
She did a course at Harvard Business School in 1999 and business/journalism course at Columbia University in 2014.
Career
Von Holzen started as an economic journalist, in newspapers and at Swiss Television.[4]
She was deputy director of publications for the Swiss media conglomerate Tamedia 2009-2013, and Communications manager for the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne 2014-2018.[5]
She holds - predictable - transatlantic positions, on subjects such as Iran[6] and Russia[7][8], which is reflected in her choice of interview objects.
In January 2024 she reported:
Davos, its big bosses, its heads of state and its impressive security system. For years, the World Economic Forum (WEF) has been the object of all fantasies, especially on the part of conspiracy theorists. Again this year, Bill Gates, the subject of the wildest assumptions, took a few steps on the sidewalks of the station. The 2024 vintage will therefore not have escaped the rule. The object of the fears this time: the session entitled "Preparing ourselves for disease X".[9]
