Matthew Jamison is a Senior Parliamentary Researcher at the House of Commons. He was a Founding Director of intelligence super-connected Henry Jackson Society, but wrote regularly for the Russian Strategic Culture Foundation until 2019, where he argued for better ties with Russia and China.[1]
Education
Jamison studied history & international relations at Peterhouse, Cambridge University and is an Alum of Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. Jamison was chairman of the Cambridge University Conservative Association in 2004.
Career
He served as Special Advisor for the All Party Parliamentary Group for Defence & Diplomacy Middle East and North Africa, and Parliamentary Researcher for MP Sir Oliver Letwin.
He was a Founding Director of The Henry Jackson Society, but has also called it "corrupt and racist...with extreme xenophobia, ignorance and intellectual hogwash".[2]
In 2011 he conducted research for the European Council on Foreign Relations & Brookings Institution.
In 2015 became a member of the Global Leadership Seminar at Georgetown University School of Foreign Service.
He is co-author of "Humanitarian Intervention: A History" Cambridge University Press; "The British Moment" Social Affairs Unit.
In November 2015 he delivered a lecture on American Global Leadership at the United States Naval Academy. He has addressed audiences at the BBC, Voice of Russia, YouGov, Peterhouse Politics Society, Cambridge Union, India Business Forum, London Business School & Monocle. Additionally he has provided briefings on policy related matters to the British Foreign Office; Israeli Embassy; Arab League; European Parliament and various other Embassies, International Governmental & non-governmental organisations.
