KFF (Kaiser Family Foundation), also known as the The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, is an American non-profit organization, headquartered in San Francisco, California. KFF focuses on major health care issues facing the nation, as well as U.S. role in global health policy. KFF states that it is a non-partisan source of facts and analysis, polling and journalism for policymakers, the media, the health care community, and the general public,[1] and its website has been heralded as a "must-read for healthcare devotees."[2]

It prefers the name KFF since its legal name can cause confusion as it is no longer a nonprofit foundation or a family foundation, and is not associated with Kaiser Permanente.[3]

Dissemination of information

Kaiser Media Fellowships in Health "provide selected journalists with unique opportunities to gain an in-depth grasp of U.S. health and health policy issues, through site visits, briefings and discussions with policy experts and fellow editors and reporters."[4]The company has been running training programs for journalists since 1993. Information is also disseminated on various websites and through other publications.

Furthermore, information on the subject of health policy, in particular on health reform, is collected and disseminated. The Health Care Marketplace Project disseminates information on topics related to the health market, especially insurance policies. The Medicare Policy Project provides information on topics related to Medicare. The HIV/AIDS Policy Program promotes education about this disease worldwide. The Kaiser Family Foundation also supports the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

The Next Stage of COVID-19 Vaccine Roll-Out in United States: Children Under 12

On July 30, 2021, the Foundation published a market research study on achieving a high rate of vaccine coverage among those under age 12, pointing out that "reaching younger children may pose new challenge", but where "schools will also likely play an important role in providing information and outreach to parents, and in some cases offering or requiring vaccination, particularly for those parents who say they want to wait and see or will only vaccinate their child if schools require it."[5]
