Istok Associates

In 2010 Barnett co-founded Istok Associates, "a risk consultancy specialising in CEE and the Middle East." This received money from the Democracy Integrity Project.

In 2016 The Guardian published an article by Neil Barnett which claimed that "Our anti-money laundering regulations are all appearance and no enforcement. The Panama Papers show that what we need is our own version of the FBI."[1]
