Jonas Bonnier was Chief Executive Officer of the family-owned Bonnier AB,one of Sweden's largest media groups, from January 1, 2008 until February 1, 2014 and was also its President.[1][2]
He attended the 2012 Bilderberg meeting.
Background
Jonas Bonnier grew up on Djurgården in Stockholm as the son of media executive Lukas Bonnier and Gun Galin. The Bonnier group, or Bonnier AB, is a family-owned group and media conglomerate based in Sweden.
Education
Bonnier studied theatre studies and pedagogy at Stockholm University and literature at Uppsala University.
Career
As editor at Albert Bonniers Publishing from 1990 to 1992, he became both Håkan Nesser's and Ellen Mattson's first publisher at the publishing house. From 1992 to 1994 he worked as a publishing manager at the comic book company Semic press AB. In 1995 he started the media company Fanzine Media, between 1996 and 2004, Bonnier was CEO and chairman of a number of magazine publishers in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Spain, France and the United States.
In 2004, he became vice president of Bonnier AB, a media conglomerate that at that time had a turnover of approximately SEK 3 billion and employed 12,000 people. From 2008 to 2013 he was CEO of the group.[3] The corporation owned a number of newspapers, including Dagens Nyheter, Expressen and Dagens industri.
He has also written a number of novels.[4]
