Ben Swann is a US television news anchor, political commentator and journalist who runs the Truth in Media news channel. On 18 March 2020, Ben Swann warned that seasonal flu could be twice as deadly as the COVID-19 outbreak. In a YouTube video, he suggested taking a look at the numbers from the WHO, and in an “apples to apples” comparison, he showed that the Coronavirus Disease has half the mortality rate of seasonal flu when it comes to "death to confirmed cases" ratio.[1]
Activities
Ben Swann has worked as a sports producer, news journalist and producer, and managing editor on network affiliates, FOX, and RT America of the Russian state-owned TV network RT. He received a number of television journalism awards by 2009. Ben Swann created the series Reality Check to address topics such as Pizzagate, and those surrounding the events at Aurora and Sandy Hook as well as 9-11. He has also questioned the use of chemical weapons in the Syrian Civil War, the role of the United States in developing of ISIL, and the possible vaccine autism connection.
His employer demanded that he take down his internet media channel and most of his social media sites in 2017. He was fired in 2018 from CBS affiliate WGCL-TV in Atlanta, Georgia for pursuing his Reality Check show and continuing to investigate Pizzagate.
Reality Check
In 2015, he was hired by CBS affiliate WGCL-TV in Atlanta, Georgia.[2] He was suspended in January 2017 for running a story about Pizzagate, reinstated after he took down his Truth in Media and Reality Check sites,[3] but then fired in 2018, after which he relaunched Reality Check.[4]
Liberty Nation
Swann relaunched Truth in Media in 2018 after he was fired by WGCL-TV, and began publishing pieces for the Liberty Nation website.[5]
Isegoria
Ben Swann launched the Isegoria social media platform,[6] named from the ancient Greek meaning "Equality of all in freedom of speech".[7]
