Éric Zemmour is a French journalist who is considered to be a candidate in the 2022 French presidential election. He called the French media "a propaganda machine that hates France" [1] He is a great critic of President Macron.[2] Jacobin called him a fascist.[3] Zemmour identifies his political leanings with Gaullism and Bonapartism, and recognises Marxism on economics.[4] He is a challenger to the National Rally leadership of Marine Le Pen.

Overview
He is the child of Jewish Algerian immigrants. He is accused of antisemitism for his views on World War 2 and the Holocaust.
After the 2015-11 Paris attacks, he said "Instead of bombing Raqqa, France should bomb Molenbeek from which the Friday 13 commandos came".[5]
In August 2021 he met Viktor Orban.[6]
In January 2022 he was found guilty of "hate speech" and fined 10,000 euros.[7]
Campaign
At his first campaign event he was attacked by a protestor who grabbed him by the neck. His wrist was injured his doctors ordered nine days of rest.[8]
