Adam Charles Kokesh is an American libertarian political activist, radio host, and author. Kokesh was a U.S. 2020 Libertarian presidential candidate running on the single-issue platform of an "orderly dissolution of the federal government".[1]
Career
Adam Kokesh is a former U.S. Marine Corps sergeant, serving in the Iraq War in 2004.[2] Upon his return from Iraq, he became an anti-war activist and an advocate for Iraq Veterans Against the War.
Known for his spectacular actions, Kokesh has been arrested by police on numerous occasions, including in May 2011 after participating in a silent flash mob manifestation, during which he danced, at the Jefferson Monument in Washington, D.C. and arrested by U.S. Park police.[3]
In 2011, he hosted the talk show Adam vs. the Man on RT. Adam vs. the Man is now an online news program.[4]
2020 Presidential candidacy
On 16 January 2018, Kokesh announced his 2020 presidential candidacy. He was pulled over by Texas state police twice on the same day and arrested on the second occasion for possession of marijuana and drug-related substances[5]. He was released on bail on January 25.[6]
Kokusu was one of six candidates com competed for the nomination at the Libertarian Party's online convention in May 2020. He ran on the single-issue platform of an "orderly dissolution of the federal government".[7] Jo Jorgensen was chosen as candidate by the party.[8]
