Fabian Hamilton Labour MP for Leeds North East was appointed in November 2016 by Jeremy Corbyn to be Shadow Minister for Peace and Disarmament. In a statement on the Facebook page of his local party, Hamilton said:
- "The role is unusual because no such post exists in government, but the Labour leader has made peace and disarmament his major international priorities - and I also share his belief that these are important aims, especially given what is happening in so many parts of the world today."
Fabian Hamilton said he would be participating in multilateral disarmament meetings at the United Nations in New York.[1]

Deep state connections
Hamilton is a signatory of the Euston Manifesto[2] and of the statement of principles of the Henry Jackson Society a neoconservative foreign policy think tank highly connected to several intelligence agencies.
Labour Friends of Israel
Hamitlon was born to a British Jewish family[3]. He supports Labour Friends of Israel[4].
Commenting on the 2010 Gaza Freedom Flotilla, Hamilton saud "They [Israel] might have had a damn good reason to do what they did to the Gaza flotilla but, my God, it was bad PR and the Palestinian lobby is unfortunately capitalising on that."[5]
Expenses fraud
In 2009 The Daily Telegraph reported that Hamilton had incorrectly claimed £3,000 on expenses for mortgage payments.[6] In addition to the interest on the mortgage, which can be claimed as an expense, Hamilton claimed for interest on an equity release scheme on the house, which cannot.
Hamilton responded in a statement that this was "a genuine mistake" and that the money was paid back when the error was discovered by the House of Commons Fees Office.[7] The Telegraph also accused Hamilton of "flipping" his second home designation to decorate and furnish both his constituency home in Leeds and London flat.[6] Hamilton defended his actions and accused the Daily Telegraph of "deliberately misrepresenting" him.[7]
