Dr. Professor Yiping Huang is a Chinese economist and banker with strong ties to Australia and the US. He attended 3 Bilderberg meetings. He pushes for more Chinese "integration" into international financial markets[1].
Background
In 1984, he graduated from Zhejiang Agricultural University (now Zhejiang University Huajiachi Campus) with a bachelor's degree.In 1987, he received a master's degree in Economics from Renmin University of China. In 1994, he received a doctorate in economics from the Australian National University in Canberra. [2][3]
Career
After graduation, he became director of the China Economy Program at the Australian National University.[4]
In May 2000, he joined Citigroup. He worked as the chief economist of Citigroup Greater China and the chief economist of the Asia-Pacific Region. He left Citigroup in February 2009.
He became Managing Director and Chief Economist for Emerging Asia at Barclays in 2011.[4]
Since 2013, he has been an independent director at MYbank and China Life Insurance Limited, among others, while he is also an economic advisor to Alibaba Finance.[4]
Yiping was appointed as an advisor on the Monetary Policy Committee for the Peoples Bank of China, the top monetary policy advisory board in the country.[4]
