In 2007, the largest 5 funders were the European Union, Canada, United States, the united Nations and Sweden. Sweden and the US are notable in being leading proponents of the "War on Drugs".

The Terrorism Prevention Branch Alex Schmid was Officer-in-Charge of the United Nations' Terrorism Prevention Branch in Vienna from 1999 to 2005.[1]
