Reuben Ezra Efron, a Lithuanian-American, was in the US Army and the Central Intelligence Agency.
Reuben Efron was believed to have been an Israeli spy.[1]
Background
Efron was born in Lithuania on 12 April 1911 as 'Ruvelis Effronas', attended a Jewish high school and Vytautas Magnus University, where he studied law. He then practised law for five years in Kaunas.
In 1939 he came to Miami via Cuba. He spoke English, Russian, Lithuanian, Hebrew, Yiddish and German, and was a translator in the US Air Force during World War 2. Before his retirement he attained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.
Working for the CIA
In 1955 Efron accompanied Senator Richard Russell Jr. on a trip to the USSR where he and Russell reported seeing "flying saucers" that were said to have been experimental Soviet aircraft.
Efron was assigned the task of intercepting and reading Lee Harvey Oswald's mail before the assassination of JFK. He was also present when in February 1964 the Warren Commission, charged with investigating the assassination, interviewed Oswald's widow Marina.[2]
Israeli spy?

Some names linked to Israel were redacted in these new files. Even after 60 years, they’re hiding something.

Orthodox Jew
Efron was an observant Orthodox Jew.
Besides his work for intelligence, Efron published five articles in the Jewish Bible Quarterly, including a four-part series on "Military Intelligence in the Bible."
Efron spent some time in Israel before dying on 22 November 1993. He was buried in Mount Sinai Memorial Park, Miami, Miami-Dade County, Florida, USA.[4]
