Swiss academic who gave a presentation on The Internationalization of Business: The Social Aspect to the 1968 Bilderberg.

Dr. Henri Hartung presented a paper on The Internationalization of Business: The Social Aspect at the 1968 Bilderberg, discussing the need for a spiritual part in the tranformation of business from a regional to a world-wide level.[1][2][3]

By leaving the life of the spirit wholly out of account, the protagonists of the modern world may well be busily organizing a world of wretchedness in their efforts to abolish the effects of wretchedness. Cannot contemporary man preserve the dramatic victories of science by placing them at the service of man rather than the consumer?[4]

During the Second World War he was part of the French resistance.[5]

Ramana Maharshi

Henri Hartung was interested in spiritualism. He went on mission to India and trip to Tibet In November 1947, in India, he met Ramana Maharshi. In 1955, he created in Paris an institute of permanent education, dedicated first to students, then to adults, the Institute of Human Sciences and Techniques (Institut des Sciences et Techniques Humaines).[5]

He founded a Ramana Centre (followers of the Hindu sage Ramana Maharshi) in Switzerland in 1977[5], which he ran for many years. His French translation of Ulladu Naarpadu went into several editions.[6]
