Heinz Bude is a German sociologist and psychologist who was involved in the creation of the fear strategy paper of the German Ministry of the Interior in 2020.[1] During 2021 he became known for an interview in which he spoke about the option to send non-vaccinated German adults to Madagascar (in a sense that this is not an option which is doable); the idea is reminiscent of the proposal during Hitlerian Germany to send the Jews to that same island.[2][3]
Covid 19
Corona strategy paper
On March 14 2020, he was called by Markus Kerber, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of the Interior, and agreed to take part in the creation of the Ministry of the Interior's internal coronavirus strategy paper. Bude said the images from Bergamo had been decisive; when he then heard that the priests who accompany the dying in their final hours were themselves falling ill and dying, he knew that corona had to be seen in the same line as the plague, cholera and Spanish flu. In June 2023, he said that he would still proceed in the same way as he had in the Commission.[4] He worked on the so-called scenario paper and wrote a section.[5] On Deutschlandfunk radio, he said that the aim was to address citizens in general, not as representatives of a specific social group. Civil society actors were important for communicating the infection protection concept, such as churches or "neighborhood management".[6]
"Madagascar"
In an interview with Michael Bröcker on the measures taken during the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany on December 7, 2021, he explained that "vaccination opponents" "must have tangible disadvantages" and that "basically you can no longer deal with them", "you can't ship them to Madagascar", but there is no point in looking for reasons. You have to "make a cut and live with the fact that there are 20% or 15% who cannot be convinced".[7][8][9][10]
