Protesting Israeli genocide
On 18 January 2025, when over 100,000 people rallied in London in solidarity with the Palestinian people and asserted their right to protest, Chris Nineham was arrested by the Metropolitan Police for encouraging the marchers to head towards BBC HQ in defiance of a police ban.[2] He was released from police custody the following day[3] charged with a breach of Section 14 of the Terrorism Act 2000.[4]
StWC released a statement saying the Met had promoted a misleading narrative about the events in Whitehall and Trafalgar Square.[5]
