Swiss business executive interested in European integration who attended the 1960 Bilderberg and 1961 Bilderbergs. Died suddenly in February 1962.

Arthur Wilhelm-Pfeifer was a Swiss economist and business executive.[1] He attended the 1960 and 1961 Bilderberg conferences. In May 1961 the Jean Monnet Foundation archived a speech he held, "The United States and European Economic Integration".

Education

Wilhelm-Pfeifer took degrees at the University of Basel, University of Geneva and a doctorate in economics at the University of Heidelberg in 1923.[2]

Career

He had a career in the chemical industry, where he rose from an Italian manager in the dyes department of the Swiss multinational Ciba to become vice-president of the company from 1946[3]. He was also the chairman of the board of directors of Durand & Huguenin and the president of ScienceIndustries, a pharmaceutical organization.[4]

In May 1961 the Jean Monnet Foundation archived a speech he held, "The United States and European Economic Integration".[5]

Board positions

He sat on the boards of Swissair, the Swiss Chamber of Commerce and the banking committee of the Swiss National Bank.[2]

Death

Unexpected.[3]
