Background
De Weck studied law at the University of Freiburg and graduated with a master's.
Career
He received the patent attorney and worked for three years as a lawyer in practice of Jean Bourgknecht. Then he joined the family's bank Weck, Aeby & Cie. on. When this bank in 1953 taken over by Union Bank of Switzerland, he was made head the Freiburg branch. In 1956 he headed the Geneva branch. He was later transferred to headquarters to Zurich, where he was in 1964 appointed Assistant Director.
He led several business units in the episode and was responsible for the branches and the credit business in French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino.
