Rachel Reeves (born 13 February 1979) is a British Labour Party politician and an economist. She has served as the Member of Parliament for Leeds West since the 2010 General Election.
Rachel Reeves was Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions from 2013 but vowed not to return to the shadow cabinet after her maternity leave following Jeremy Corbyn's victory in the 2015 Labour leadership election.
She is the sister-in-law of Parliamentary Labour Party chair John Cryer.[1]
