Jeanne Bourgault is President and CEO of the very spooky media organization Internews.[1]
Career
Bourgault joined Internews in 2001 as Vice President for Programs after six years with the US Agency for International Development, including three years at the US Embassy in Moscow, and as a strategic advisor for media and community development programs in post-war Kosovo, Serbia, and Montenegro.[2]
Bourgault has consulted on international program design and evaluation for the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, the Ford Foundation, the Research Triangle Institute, and the United Nations Centre for Human Rights, among others.[2]
Censorship
During a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum 2024 with the title "Defending Truth" about how to prevent the spread of what she calls "disinformation", Bourgault explained that one of the most effective ways to prevent people from being exposed to so-called inaccurate information is to let the big advertising companies develop blacklists or guidelines for advertising partners that tell them when to allow or exclude advertising partners,[3] so that no more advertising is placed in independent media.
