Attack on the USS Liberty

Admiral Moorer headed up the Moorer Commission to investigate the USS Liberty incident. He concluded that the attack on the USS Liberty in 1967 was a deliberate false flag attack on the part of Israel and that President Lyndon B. Johnson ordered the cover-up to maintain close ties with Israel.[1][2]

Moorer stated that "Israel attempted to prevent the Liberty's radio operators from sending a call for help by jamming American emergency radio channels.[And that] Israeli torpedo boats machine-gunned lifeboats at close range that had been lowered to rescue the most-seriously wounded." Moorer stated that there had been a conspiracy to cover up the event and asked whether "our government put Israel's interests ahead of our own? If so, Why? Does our government continue to subordinate American interests to Israeli interests?"[2]

Deep political connections

Attended Le Cercle in 1985 and 1987.

A Quote by Thomas Moorer

USS Liberty Incident“I am confident that Israel knew the Liberty could intercept radio messages from all parties ... to the ongoing [Arab-Israel, or Six-day] war, then in its fourth day, and that Israel was preparing to seize the Golan Heights from Syria [while pretending, as they later did, that Syria had attacked them] ... "And I believe Moshe Dayan [commander of Israeli forces] concluded that he could prevent Washington from becoming aware of what Israel was up to by destroying the primary source of acquiring that information, the USS Liberty."<a href="#cite_note-34">[34]</a>8 June 1997
