Allan Silberbrand is a Danish journalist, editor and studio host on TV 2 News.[1][2] Silberbrandt is a Marshall Memorial Fellow.
Career
Allan Silberbrand was born into a Jewish family that had fled to Sweden during the war. The parents were teachers.[3]
Career
Silberbrandt was trained at the newspaper Frederiksborg Amts Avis in 1973. He became editorial secretary at Politiken Søndag in 1978. He was US correspondent for Politiken from 1986. He was employed as editor-in-chief and helped start TV 2 News in 1988. He was deputy head at News from 1993, and also head of current affairs.
He was US correspondent for TV 2 in two periods – first 1997-98 and again from 2002 to 2010. Based in Washington, DC, he covered politics, culture and society in the United States.
In 2010, Silberbrandt was replaced as US correspondent by Jesper Steinmetz, and in autumn 2010 Allan Silberbrandt became a permanent studio host on TV 2's news channel, TV 2 NEWS.
