Gregory Hadjieleftheriadis is a Greek shipping magnate as part of the family's shipping business.

Gregory, together with his brother and brothers-in-law, succeeded in making Eletson Corporation one of the most highly reputed tanker companies and one of the forerunners of today’s quality Greek tanker industry.[1]

The family’s younger son Gregory Hadjieleftheriadis, born in 1938, followed his brother’s footsteps. After completing his secondary education, he studied for two years at the National Merchant Marine Academy of Hydra and subsequently completed his military service as a Reserve Ensign for the Greek Royal Navy, before working onboard oceangoing vessels. After the establishment of the family business in 1966, he served for a few months onboard the family’s first vessel, taking up the captaincy from his brother in 1967. Following his first seafaring steps, Gregory moved to London for a few years in order to familiarise with the shipping industry and build a network of contacts. As part of his training, he worked in the evenings as a trainee at the N.J. Goulandris office and attended morning classes at the London School of Foreign Trade, gaining important knowledge about shipmanagement, maritime law, marine insurance and other aspects of the shipping business.[2]

Gregory Hadjieleftheriadis not only managed the family business, but was also an advisor to the Board of the Union of Greek Shipowners from 1982, while heading the Union’s Maritime Education division. Gregory and his wife Pamela Rochelle Ansel, had three children, Andreas, Danae and Alexandros. He was Eletson’s vice president until 1997, when he was elected chairman and CEO, a post that he kept until his departure from the company in 2006.[2]

Among many contributions to the industry, he was the first vice-president of the Hellenic Marine Protection Association (Helmepa) and was instrumental in establishing its Australian sibling, Ausmepa.[1]
