Removing Focus from Corruption
In 2002 former minister Tore Tønne committed suicide after it was revealed he received hidden payments from billionaire Kjell-Inge Røkke. In an interview. Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise President Ulltveit-Moe lashed out at the media, claiming that by revealing dubious invoices, they had started a persecution that "killed him".[2] By going out hard, Ulltveit-Moe removed the focus from the actual corruption charges, centered around the law firm BA-HR and their main client, billionaire Kjell-Inge Røkke.
