Background
Mauboy was born in Darwin. Her father is Indonesian and her mother is an Aboriginal Australian.[2]
Career
She became famous in 2006 on the fourth season of Australian Idol, where she came in second place.
In 2008, Mauboy released her debut studio album, Been Waiting. It included her first number-one single, "Burn", and became the second highest-selling Australian album of 2009.
She has performed at many notable events, including the visit of Barack Obama to Australia.
She represented Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2018.
In 2021, she was part of WEF/Young Global Leaders 2021.
Personal life
Jessica engages in philanthropy, particularly for indigenous youth.
