He then became assistant to [[Hans Dichgans]], the managing director of the [[Wirtschaftsvereinigung Eisen- und Stahlindustrie|Iron and Steel Industry Association]] in [[Düsseldorf]]. This was followed by a job at [[Brown, Boveri & Cie]] under [[Kurt Lotz]], with whom he moved to the [[Volkswagen]] group in [[1967]]. Career

Prinz then became assistant to Hans Dichgans, the managing director of the Iron and Steel Industry Association in Düsseldorf. This was followed by a job at Brown, Boveri & Cie under Kurt Lotz, with whom he moved to the Volkswagen group in 1967. In 1969, Prinz became a member of the VW Board of Management, and in 1973 he finally moved to Daimler-Benz, where he was responsible for materials purchasing on the Board of Management. In 1977 he was responsible for the purchase of the American heavy-duty truck manufacturer Euclid Trucks. On January 1, 1980, Prinz succeeded Joachim Zahn.

Death

Prinz died of a heart attack in 1983 at the age of 54.
