In June 2012, Exaro outed Kroll Inc. as having instigated the City of London police to instigate an unnecessary investigation costing £1 million to protect the reputation of one of its clients.[2]

Exaro reported allegations of paedophilia in the UK political establishment which was facilitated and exploited by MI5 for purposes of political blackmail. It assisted in production of the 2015 film which was broadcast on Australia's 60 Minutes in July 2015.[3]

Some commercially-controlled media outlets reported the accusations of Carl Beech and others, such as 'Darren'. Spiked wrote that "Beech also amassed a hardcore group of enthusiasts in public life who helped to give his allegations the oxygen of publicity."[4]
Closure
The investigations into VIPaedophile did not make money and Exaro was shut down amid a financial crisis of the owning company, New Sparta Ltd.[5] The site was offline in 2018, came available again shortly during the year and appears to be finally deactivated by 2020 (the content on 'exaronews.com' now beeing in French). The domain 'exaronews.com' was excluded from the Internet Archive at one point, very likely to cover up their reporting by making it inaccessible.
