Sainsbury's is the second largest supermarket chain in the United Kingdom.
From 1922 to 1995 they were the largest.
History
In 2014, a branch removed Kosher products in fear they would be attacked by Anti-Israel activists.[1]
David Sainsbury gave £8 million to the remain campaign in the 2016 EU Referendum. He is a critic of Brexit.
A proposed merger with Asda was blocked in 2019 by the Competition and Markets Authority over concerns of increased prices for consumers.
