Trump assumed leadership of a growing, grass roots, populist movement to control and diffuse |
"Make America Great Again" (MAGA) is an American populist/anti-globalist political slogan and movement popularised by Donald Trump during his successful 2016 presidential campaign and has featured in his 2024 United States presidential election campaign.
"MAGA" is also used to refer to Trump's political base, or to an individual or group of individuals from within that base.
The slogan became a pop culture phenomenon, seeing widespread use and spawning numerous variants in the arts, entertainment and politics, being used by both supporters and opponents of Trump's presidency.
"MAHA" is an acronym for "Make America Healthy Again", and a movement lead by RFK, Jr., under Trump.

Reagan's slogan
Originally used by Ronald Reagan as a campaign slogan in his 1980 presidential campaign (Let's Make America Great Again), it has since been described as a loaded phrase. Multiple scholars, journalists, and commentators associated with the Democrat Party-controlled Corporate media who promote leftist Woke and DEI policies, have called the slogan racist, regarding it as dog-whistle politics and coded language. Some of the codes the woke Corporate media employ against MAGA, are reminiscent of author George Orwell's 'Nineteen Eighty-Four' Doublespeak and include:
- "Racist" A racist is defined a black-skinned person who is not a member of the Democrat party and criticizes or opposes Democrat party policies. Examples include right-wing commentator Candace Owens who has been described in corporate media as making "racist comments"[1], and Enrique Tarrio leader of Proud Boys, who both have been accused of being racist and making racist comments, in corporate media, even though ironically their race is black and in Tarrio's case identifies as Afro-Cuba of mixed black race.
- "Sexist" A sexist is defined as a woman who is not a member of the Democrat party and criticizes or opposes Democrat party policies. Examples include Ann Hart Coulter, who is an American conservative media pundit, author, syndicated columnist, and lawyer. Ann Coulter who has been accused of being "sexist" in corporate media, especially during September 2016, when this was a hot button media issue in the lead up to the 2016 election, with Corporate media pre-selecting Hillary Clinton for president, including The Atlantic[2], labelling Coulter as "sexist" even though ironically, she's a woman.
- "Antisemitic" "Antisemitism" is defined as any Jewish person who is not a member of the Democrat party and criticizes or opposes Democrat party policies. Example includes right wing firebrand and staunch Israel loyalist, independent reporter Laura Loomer[3] who has been accused in corporate media as being "antisemitic"[4], even though ironically, she's Jewish and intensely pro-Israel.
- "Freedom of Speech/Press" Your right to agree with Democrat Party politics and agenda, or you are silenced, censored and removed. This includes multiple scholars, journalists, and commentators, who are all enthusiastically in agreement that MAGA is racist, under threat of defunding, deplatforming, censorship and removal.
Democrat Party leader offers left-wing perspective on MAGA

On 6 August 2024, Josh Moon wrote in the Alabama Political Reporter:
- Tim Walz only said what everyone was thinking. The second-term governor of Minnesota and Kamala Harris 2024 Vice President running mate, cut through the noise, knocked off the sugar coating and said out loud what had been whispered among regular Americans for a while now: Republicans have turned weird. Especially the MAGA brand of Republicans.[5]
Critique of Governor Walz' 'Yes, MAGA Is Weird' opinion hit piece
'Yes, MAGA is Weird', forms the opinions of Democrat Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota, who was Kamala Harris' running mate in the 2024 election and a political enemy of President Trump, Republicans in general and particularly Trump's MAGA base of support. Therefore, his opinions only represent a segment of America's populace and not the entire population, as the article falsely suggests.
- "Tim Walz only said what everyone was thinking." This is not how "everyone" in America is thinking and instead only what the extreme left in America demand the public think. This line of reasoning is very typical of how Democrat Party political leaders, Hollywood celebrities, and corporate media talking heads speak, who pretend they speak for everyone, because they control the official narrative and deliberately silence disagreement.
- "The second-term governor of Minnesota cut through the noise, knocked off the sugar coating and said out loud what had been whispered among regular Americans for a while now: Republicans have turned weird. Especially the MAGA brand of Republicans." This is not how regular Americans think or speak. A very large part of the populace identifies with the aims of common middle-class needs of safety, security, and a return to sensible values which Americans enjoyed most in the 1950's and 1960's, when life in America was better, for the middle-class, within the memory of many individuals who were alive in the era, in contrast to today's unrecognizable daily dystopia, that doesn't make sense to the average person. "Make it Make sense" was a popular slogan, on social media in 2024.
- "This is not a point up for debate. And deep down, underneath that red MAGA hat, you know it’s true. You know that this whole thing has gotten really, really weird." Here, Gov. Walz attempts a little censorship, by claiming you're not permitted to think or protest, and that he will dictate what you may or may not believe.
- "From ramblings about sharks and batteries to praising the “great Hannibal Lecter,” to telling people they won’t have to worry about voting anymore to praising dictators while simultaneously bashing Americans to people wearing fake bandages on their ears to a guy dressed like a shaman storming the Capitol along with thousands of other feces-smearing felons to just looking the other way on that whole paying off a porn star thing to belittling women who don’t have children … it’s weird. You’re weird. It’s all so weird." No one has ever heard of sharks and batteries or praising Hannibal Lecter before. Walz is just making things up. Many believe voting doesn't make any difference, because regardless of party elected to the White House or US Congress, few, if any political promises are ever kept, or prove beneficial for voters. Instead, it has become the realm of lobbyists and special interests who pay off politicians to make the rich richer, giving out handouts to unemployed, while the middle-class and small business pays for it all. The result is the population has begun talking about taking the law into their own hands and giving up on the political process all together, bringing out the pitch forks and the guillotines. Unknown which dictators are being praised? Walz never says. Guy dressed as Shaman was weird, and no one had ever heard of him or was he considered a spokesperson or representative of the MAGA movement before Jan 6th. However, alt-right media gave him a platform to speak, and his ideas made sense. Jan 6th was designed as an entrapment, to lure the leaders of the MAGA movement to Washington DC, so they could be arrested, fined, beaten, tortured and imprisoned, and made an example for the rest of the population to know their place. However, few of the MAGA leaders showed up, and except for a few broken windows, the Jan 6th riot was mostly peaceful, resulting in a punishment that didn't fit the crime, compared to practically zero enforcement for violent Black Lives Matter riots which burned down cities, businesses, and homes, without consequence or legal enforcement, forming a frustrating double standard and lack of justice, for mostly white middle-class Americans.
- "Every single day, it’s something more weird or strange than the last. Particularly on the days in which Trump holds a rally and ends up speaking for what feels like six hours, and then all of the Trump surrogates (which is essentially everyone in the Republican Party at this point) has to spend the next three days trying to convince everyone that Trump was either, A) Just joking about being a dictator or never voting again, B) That you didn’t really hear what you definitely heard, or C) That false thing Trump said is absolutely true because we believe it." Trump has his freedom of speech, although the Democrat Party and its controlled media attempt to silence him. Often, his crazy ideas, that the Democrat Party and its controlled corporate media ridicule, later prove uncannily true. Although Trump has his unrelatable inconsistencies, and isn't perfect, and often disappoints his base, many voters appreciate the alternative being offered by the Democrat Party is far worse. That's why millions held their noses and voted for the "better of two evils" in 2024.
- "For my entire life, I have been taught – and I know for a fact that others have been taught – to honor the Golden Rule. To treat others in a way in which you would want to be treated. To not belittle people. To not make fun of others. And then along came MAGA. Suddenly, it is OK to hate. It is OK to refer to large groups of people, especially immigrants, in derogatory terms. It is OK to say vile, disgusting things to anyone who holds a different opinion." Here, Walz is the pot calling the kettle black. Democrats see nothing wrong with mistreatment of conservative Americans, and demand they accept their standards of life, and woke agenda, forced upon the population without any say in the matter. Since when has the Democrat Party ever lived by the Golden Rule for Republicans. Walz is attempting to apply double standard hypocrisy.
- "It’s also weird that you think women shouldn’t be allowed to make medical decisions about their own bodies. It’s weird that you think equality and diversity and inclusion are threatening to you. It’s weird that you believe immigrants are hurting the country, since you are almost certainly a descendent of an immigrant. It’s weird that you think vaccinations are some sort of a government conspiracy. It’s weird that you keep believing that someone cheated Trump each time he loses. And it’s really, really weird that you’re all just OK with the felonies, the fake electors, the coup attempt, the Russian relationships, the stealing of documents and the porn star." Many Americans object to taxpayers paying for women to murder their children, while others object to murder on religious grounds, as one of the 10 commandments - "thou shall not kill". Walz argues the DEI hiring which excludes and removes white-skinned Americans should be no big deal, but it hasn't worked out for the middle-class. Next, Walz argues that the C-19 vaccination is "healthy & safe" and should be whole heartedly embraced, because the government is looking out for your safety, which of course proved untrue. It appears that the 2020 election may have been stolen, which is up for contention, however, Democrats never accepted the results of the 2016 election or the 2024 election, and solely demand that only the results of Democrats winning elections is accepted as just, while Republican victories should be rejected, with endless protests, disruption, and rioting until Democrat Party control is returned to government.
